Dashboard drummer rocks the emo masses.
The Agency - Turn
[3/5] As a veteran of Dashboard Confessional, Agency drummer Mike Marsh-who trades off vocals and lyrics with bassist Chris Drueke on Turn-is no stranger to playing heartfelt music to the back rows of a hockey rink. And that's exactly what most songs on Turn do, from the Journey-ish pop-punk of "Walking Disaster" (whose opening line is "Let's get desperate again") to "Picture," where Marsh looks for clues in a faded photograph ("If a smile tells a story, I must have really disappointed you") over crashing power chords. It's an effective formula, as Marsh's day boss could tell you, but it's when they leave that formula behind on the piano-driven "Mary Mourn" that Turn hits hardest, like Ben Folds-if Folds could kick your ass.
