Worth the wait
Carbonas - CarbonasPosted by Laila Hanson on 28-May-08 @ 03:59 PM
[4.5/5]Talk about an anticipated album. This third release from Carbonas was first available this past September as a special bonus for those attending Gonerfest in Memphis, Tennessee. Copies of the limited-edition vinyl release sold out quickly, and an eBay search afterward would find buyers paying nearly $100 for one of the coveted records. Sweet relief has finally come now that the album is available commercially; longtime fans of the band will agree it was definitely worth the wait, as this is easily some of the Atlanta quintet's catchiest stuff yet. New listeners: Think snotty, late-'70s punk with a hint of pop thrown in for good measure-like a gravelly version of the Damned. The cash you drop on this record is worth it alone for the opening song "Phone Booth," which will be plastered in your head for days. (GONER) Erin Rahel Official Website: http://www.goner-records.com
