ENERGY CANCELS TOUR, POSTS NEW SONG ONLINEPosted by Ben Sailer on 27-Aug-08 @ 11:53 PM
Due to some unfortunate health concerns, Energy have been forced to cancel their current tour with Know The Score and Meantime. An e-mail from the band reads: Due to reasons beyond our control, Energy had to cancel the remainder of our current U.S. Tour. Our drummer Justin developed tendonitis in his wrist, and after a visit to the Emergency Room, the doctor told him to not play drums for a month or so....and unfortunately, "a month or so" is all that was left of this tour. The band promises they'll be back out on the road as soon as possible, and will still be playing at the final Dead Hearts show on Sept. 12 in Buffalo, New York. In a cheerier piece of news, the melodic hardcore act recently uploaded a new track titled "400" that you can listen to on their MySpace page. The song will be on the upcoming full-length Invasions Of The Mind, due out Sept. 30 via Bridge 9. It's also available on a limited edition 7" dubbed Race The Sun. [ |

IN REMEMBRANCE: REPLACEMENTS DRUMMER STEVE FOLEY (1959-2008)Posted by Scott Heisel on 27-Aug-08 @ 02:31 PM
Steve Foley, who drummed for 1980s alt-rock/punk heroes the Replacements, has died at 49. Foley accidentally overdosed on prescription medication.
Foley joined the band in 1990, replacing original drummer Chris Mars. Though he appeared on no official Replacements full-lengths, he toured with the band until their original final show on the fourth of July, 1991, at Chicago's Grant Park. Foley also played in lesser-known acts like Curtiss A, Wheelo, Snaps and the more recent Bash & Pop. Our condolences to Foley's family, friends and fans. [ |
