Dropout Year

HQ: Baltimore, MD.

NOW PLAYING: Best Friends For Never EP

THE STORY SO FAR: Bored and in high school-it's a setting familiar to most of us. But, instead of pining for graduation, in 2004, Dropout Year recorded demos (eventually followed by two EPs) and began giving other kids in their situation something to do. "We've played every major concert venue in Baltimore, as well as the smallest church halls, American Legions, friends' basements, parking lots, and more," says guitarist/vocalist Adam Goodman. "There's nothing like listening to a song and being able to say, 'Hey! I totally know what you mean!'" .

WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Everything they touch is currently turning to harmonic gold. They won DJ Rosstar's first national unsigned band contest and this year's Comcast On Demand Music Video Contest and were featured as one of the top unsigned bands in the country by TheDailyChorus.com. "We do anything and everything we can to get each and every person to give us a listen," says Goodman. Tim Karan.
