HQ: Worcester, MANOW PLAYING: Remember To Forget MeEP THE STORY SO FAR:We asked the Proposal to give us a brief rundown of their band's history, and in response, we got a 700-word essay from bassist/vocalist Joe Onorato that wouldn't fit here even if we gave it a whole page. So, to sum it up: This Massachusetts screamo band have existed since late 2002 around the core of Onorato and guitarist/vocalist Cody Nickerson, and after a number of lineup changes, they recruited frontman Brian Derosa and drummer AJ Greguoli in early 2005. A few months later, the band recorded and released their debut EP, and they've been touring up and down the East Coast ever since. See how easy that was, Joe? And it only took 61 words! WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: "Nowadays, a lot of bands are the same," frets Onorato. But before we can pull out our kettle, he beats us to it: "I guess we are no different, only harder-working. We'd like to think it shows through our music." That music, while drawing heavily from the scene's forebears, still possess a passion and hunger not seen often in these parts. "It's really hard not knowing anyone in the business and simply working your way from the ground up," Onorato says, "but we just feel we deserve to be heard. And I honestly think we might be more appreciative than most bands when kids tell us they like our band." The members themselves seem to like their band just fine: They all got matching Proposal tattoos while on tour last year. --Scott Heisel YOU LIKE?
